Maytag Neptune Bearing

Order was shipped and recieved promptly. Although this is not a TIMKEN bearing, and yes, it does make a difference, it works well and the price difference between this and the TIMKEN made the choice of fix or replace much easier. I can order three more of these before I pay for one TIMKEN bearing set.

Broken plastic pieces

I purchased 2 of the 24 drawer cabinets from one supplier and a 44 drawer cabinet from a second supplier. (The first supplier did not offer the 44 drawer model.) All three cabinets arrived with broken tabs laying in the bottom of the box. (These are the tabs that keep the drawers from falling out.) In addition, one of the UNBREAKABLE plastic drawers was cracked. I called one of the suppliers, (Wasserstrom), and they sent me a replacement cabinet. The problem was that it was worse than the others. Nearly half of the plastic tabs were broken. This is not a shipping or handling problem. The problem is that the process of installing the individual drawers at the factory is damaging the frame during assembly. This is a poor quality product.
I found a better choice at Lowe’s. They carry a line of plastic drawer cabinets that are much better, and made in the USA too!! They have a 9 drawer cabinet that has the same size drawers as Akro-Mills and is stackable. They are much more robust in design and cost about the same ($1.22 per drawer vs. $1.17) as the Akro-Mills products.

Cheap materials – poor design

I own another Akro-Mils parts drawer that is similar – the 10764 and I didn’t have problems with that one, but this one arrived with several of the plastic tabs broken. I didn’t even need to unwrap the shrinkwrap – it was clearly evident because of broken pieces rattling around and drawers shifted. The tabs serve two purposes – they serve as a drawer stop to keep the drawer from being pushed in too far, and they keep the drawer from falling out when opened.

Akro-Mils clearly didn’t size the tabs properly for the bigger drawers of this model. They are the same 1-2mm tiny tabs that are used for the models with smaller drawers and the plastic is hard and brittle enough that they break easily.

This went unopened right back to Amazon. I’m looking for a different brand.

Nice Drawer system, poor packaging

I sent the first one back because the little tabs that keep the drawers from falling out were broken. The second one also had some broken tabs. I decided to just fix it myself with some small screws. Otherwise it’s a nice little set for keeping small screws, nuts, washers, etc. You can mount it on the wall also.

FABULOUS-TRULY COMMERCIAL,TOP PROFESSIONAL-DON’T BUY ANY OTHER

I can’t begin to say how THRILLED I am with this unit.It is, simply, the BEST, PROFESSIONAL, COMMERCIAL QUALITY unit you can find. I’ve had other, non-professional units–which never heat hot enough–which causes sticking– and soon stop working. The extra $$ for this unit are worth every penny.I had given up on others– and this was my last resort. These burners heat and stay HOT for even cooking and frying. I use this double burner ALL THE TIME for all types of stove cooking– in place of of my regular stove– which had died. I didn’t want to purchase another stove now because we’ll soon be moving. ( It does take a minute or so to heat up–not a fault–it’s in the construction–because once it does reach
the temperature level you want–IT STAYS hot at that temperature.)This is the ONLY unit which gets hot enough to BOIL WATER and COOK PASTA –in a BIG POT, too–because large burner IS large….and QUICKLY.All the other units NEVER reach boiling temperature.This is because it’s 1500. I, also, recommend this flat surface over the raised burner grids–which are hard to clean. These flat surfaces clean instantly. REAL metal– not plastic and substitute stuff–for easy cleaning and quality appearance. When we move and have a stove, again, I know we’ll continue to use this
as an extra burner . This is the ONLY unit I would recommend over all those cheapie ones–whether they cost little or a lot.I don’t write reviews very often– but just had to share and praise this one.

Solid Double Burner

I’ve found the Waring Pro DB60 to be a solid double burner. I like the simple design with cast iron plates makes for easy clean up. The temperature control seems faster than other burners i’ve used- when turning down from 5 to 2 (high to simmer) The Waring cost more than other double electric burners on the market, but from the not convincing reviews of the others, and from using the Waring every day for several weeks i think it is definitely worth it.

This portable burner is very well made. Unlike my previous portable burner, this one is easy to keep clean. The temperature controls also work much better than the first one I tried. I have been using it on a regular basis for about 3 months.
